Best fleet management software in Spain 2026
May 1, 2026 · Suso Merino · CEO
Choosing fleet management software in Spain in 2026 isn’t trivial. There are established players with twenty years of track record, modern SaaS offerings with real AI, and a handful of international platforms with a local presence. Each one solves a different problem, and almost none is the best at everything.
This comparison reviews five options that keep showing up on any Spanish fleet manager’s shortlist: Trackia, Localiza, Movildata, Webfleet and Movertis. The goal is to give you objective criteria to rule options out quickly and request a demo only from the two or three that genuinely fit your operation.
Criteria that matter in an evaluation
Before comparing brands, it’s worth pinning down the axes you’ll decide on. These are the six that really move the needle in a serious evaluation.
Supported hardware
Some platforms only work with their own proprietary hardware, while others accept any standard device on the market. The second group gives you independence: if you switch providers tomorrow, the hardware is still yours. Trackia, Localiza and Movildata work natively with Teltonika. Webfleet has historically pushed its own LINK device; it now tolerates third-party hardware, but the best experience is still with its own.
Real AI vs. marketing
Almost every platform claims to have “AI.” The useful question is: ask them for a concrete use case where the AI makes a decision you couldn’t make by looking at a table. Predictive maintenance with a time horizon for each component, detection of abnormal driving patterns, tire replacement recommendations based on mileage and temperature. If the answer is “we have a chatbot that summarizes reports,” AI isn’t the core of the product.
Commercial model
Lock-in contract vs. no lock-in. Hardware you own vs. rented hardware. The cost of partially deactivating vehicles for seasonal periods. This is where offers differ the most, and where fleet managers ask the fewest questions during the demo. Always ask about the exit clause before signing.
Support in Spanish
Having documentation in Spanish is basic. Having first-line support that answers in under four hours during business hours, with an identifiable contact person rather than a ticket that orbits through three countries, is less common. Confirm it with a current customer, not with the sales rep.
ERP and maintenance management integration
If you already use Holded, SAP Business One, Odoo, A3 (Holded and A3 are widely used Spanish business software) or an industry-specific ERP, ask about native integration, a documented REST API and webhooks. Platforms that only export CSV files will force you to build glue code.
Indicative pricing
Prices range from €12 to €28 per vehicle per month in mid-sized fleets, with hardware on top (between €80 and €200 per device depending on the Teltonika model). Any offer far below that range usually hides a long lock-in contract or expensive rented hardware.
The five platforms head to head
| Platform | Hardware | Real AI | Lock-in | Spanish support | Main fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trackia | Open Teltonika | Yes, predictive | No | Native | Fleets of 10-200, Spain focus, SaaS model |
| Localiza | Preconfigured Teltonika | Add-on module | Yes (variable) | Native | Enterprise, visible references |
| Movildata | Teltonika + proprietary | Classic statistics | Common | Native | Professional haulage, tachograph |
| Webfleet | Proprietary LINK | Limited | Common | Multilingual | Large international fleets |
| Movertis | Teltonika | Limited | Not aggressive | Native | General mid-sized fleets |
Trackia
A SaaS platform built on open Teltonika hardware, with predictive AI at the core of the product and a no lock-in contract model. It’s a very good fit for fleets of 10 to 200 vehicles based in Spain, especially when the fleet manager wants real control over data and hardware. If you need multi-country enterprise operations with a written SLA, there are more mature options.
Localiza
An established player in Spain, with 50,000+ active vehicles, ISO 27001 and 9001 certifications, and infrastructure on Azure. Very visible enterprise references. A good fit for companies that prioritize track record, certifications and a well-known name over commercial agility. We’ve analyzed it in depth in Localiza alternative: an honest comparison.
Movildata
A very clear focus on professional haulage, especially heavy goods. Very mature digital tachograph integration and a dense sales and technical network. If your fleet does long-haul transport with tachographs and you need an installer within 50 km of any depot, Movildata is a very strong contender.
Webfleet
Owned by Bridgestone since 2019. A European benchmark with a presence in more than 50 countries. Its own LINK hardware (though it tolerates third-party devices). A fit for large international fleets operating in several countries that need a single provider for everything. The AI side is limited, and the commercial model is the classic European one: lock-in contract and a dedicated sales rep.
Movertis
A general-purpose offering for mid-sized fleets. A good price-to-functionality balance, without much AI but with solid tracking. A fit for fleets looking for something functional without analytical sophistication.
Recommendation by fleet size
Fewer than 10 vehicles
At this size, the ROI of a professional platform is debatable. Before signing anything, read Fleet software for SMBs: when to start to confirm the timing is right. If it is, look for options with no lock-in and fast onboarding.
10 to 50 vehicles
The sweet spot for Trackia, Movertis and Localiza on their entry plans. Prioritize no lock-in, hardware you own and a dashboard your team can use without three days of training.
50 to 200 vehicles
This is where Trackia, Localiza, Movertis and Movildata come in, the latter if you have a professional haulage component. The real differentiators are predictive AI (which reduces unplanned downtime) and ERP integration (which avoids re-entering data by hand). To understand the impact, see Predictive maintenance in fleets.
More than 200 vehicles, multi-country
Webfleet and Localiza are the two most mature options. Trackia is viable if most of the fleet is in Spain and only a small percentage operates abroad occasionally.
Professional haulage with tachographs
Movildata and Trackia. Remote tachograph download is now mandatory: review Digital tachograph: remote download and 2026 obligations before comparing platforms.
Typical mistakes when choosing a platform
In ten years of watching evaluation processes, the same four mistakes keep recurring, leading to the wrong choice and a new evaluation two years later.
Deciding on monthly price alone
The price per vehicle per month is only part of the total cost. You need to look at the 3-year TCO, including hardware, installation, SIM cards, training and integration with other tools. A platform at €14 with a 36-month lock-in and rented hardware can end up costing more than one at €22 with no lock-in and hardware you own.
Buying features you won’t use
Many sales PDFs boast catalogs of 80 features. In practice, a fleet regularly uses between 8 and 15. Before evaluating, write down the 10 features you’ll actually use in the first week and rule out any offer that doesn’t clearly include them in its base plan.
Ignoring integration with what you already have
If you already use an ERP, maintenance software or a document management system, integration with those tools is worth more than any new feature. A platform with a documented REST API and well-built webhooks connects in days. A platform with a nightly CSV export requires custom development that will cost you €4,000-8,000 extra.
Not validating real-world support
Ask about the average first-line support response time and who complex cases are escalated to. Ask for a reference from a customer who has had an incident and can tell you how it was handled. Support quality only shows when something fails, and in a fleet something always ends up failing.
What must be in the demo
Always ask for these four things during the presentation, no exceptions:
- A real AI use case: a concrete decision the platform has made for a customer that saved money or downtime.
- A written exit clause: how many months of lock-in, what happens to the hardware at the end, portability costs.
- A REST API with public documentation: if it isn’t public, that’s a bad sign for future integrations.
- A reference from a customer of similar size to yours: a 15-minute conversation with a real customer is worth more than the entire sales pitch.
Wrapping up
There’s no “best fleet management software in Spain” in the abstract. There are right fits depending on your size, your industry and your appetite for modern vs. traditional commercial models. If your fleet is small to mid-sized, operates mostly in Spain and you want a SaaS platform with no lock-in contract and real AI, Trackia belongs on your shortlist. If your priority is certification and highly visible enterprise references, Localiza. If it’s pure professional haulage, Movildata. If it’s a massive international presence, Webfleet.
